Academic Advising
We offer holistic academic advising appointments. This means that we will work with you on both your academics as well as answer other questions you might have about navigating UNM, our Black community, etc.
Currently, due to COVID-19, our staff are here to accomodate you through zoom meetings, phone calls, and in-person office meetings. We are also offering walk in appointments M-Th 10-4pm, please ensure you have completed your covid screening in your email before stopping by.

Advocacy and Liaison
AASS serves as an advocate and liaison to other student centers and academic departments.
We understand that navigating UNM as a Black student can present a unique set of opportunities and challenges. Please contact the staff of African American Student Services if you need any assistance.
Employment Opportunities
We offer budget workshops, access to community and UNM scholarships, employment opportunities and internships.

Tutoring
Center for Academic Programs Support (CAPS) provides one-on-one tutoring services for various subjects.
All CAPS tutors are located in the Ethnic Centers Foyer during our study hall nights on Wednesdays from 5-8pm.
We also provide a Math Tutor who covers all UNM Math Courses including all Calc courses
Work Study in African American Student Services
